| 04:00 to 08:00 | 8 | 28 | 55 | 72 |
| 08:00 to 12:00 | 20 | 52 | 74 | 81 |

| 20:00 to 24:00 | 12 | 40 | 72 | 100 |
| All hours | 165 of 2,160 | 351 of 2,160 | 547 of 2,160 | 645 of 2,160 |
Bitcoin usually has the fewest 1% hours of the four, because it moves least: a 1% hour is common for Solana and XRP and much rarer for Bitcoin. Compare the blocks within one coin’s column rather than across columns. Bitcoin’s busiest hours overlap the opening of US stock markets, at 13:30 UTC in summer and 14:30 UTC in winter.
Your time zone: when the busy hours fall
Convert UTC to your own time. Between November and mid-March, 14:00 UTC is 15:00 in Central Europe, 09:00 in New York, 22:00 in Singapore and 01:00 the next morning in Sydney; daylight saving moves these by an hour for the rest of the year. So for people in Asia and Australia, the busy UTC afternoon in this data fell in the evening or overnight, while in Europe and the Americas it fell during the working day.
What this means for an alert at night
If a level you care about can be crossed while you sleep, a normal notification is not enough: it waits in the tray, and on silent it makes no sound. Crypto Alerts & Alarms can ring a full-screen alarm that takes over the lock screen and rings through silent mode on Android, and alerts are checked on our servers, so they fire whether or not the app is open. How to set one up, and the phone settings it needs.
How we calculated it
Hourly candles for each coin’s USDT pair from Binance’s public market data, for the 90 complete UTC days from 30 July 2026 to 27 October 2026. An hour counts as a 1% hour when its high minus its low is at least 1% of its opening price. Each hour is placed in the UTC hour it started. The date at the top shows when the figures were last calculated.
