Good to know before you set Avalanche alerts
AVAX is the coin of the Avalanche network. Inside Avalanche apps you will often see WAVAX, the wrapped version that smart contracts use; it tracks AVAX closely but is a separate token, and the exchanges in the app list AVAX itself. Bridged versions of AVAX on other networks are separate tokens too.
